Security Professional of the Year - 2007
Kelley Arher has been awarded as the chapter Security Professional of the Year for 2007. Kelley was nominated by Rick Ensenbach and Linda Zeis.
An excerpt from Kelley's nomination letter:
Kelley’s dedication to the professional security community resulted in one of his biggest achievements, which was the creation of the Secure360 joint security conference. It was Kelley’s leadership and vision that created Secure360 two years ago and this has been the largest security conference ever held in the Twin Cities. The conference is a partnership between the Minnesota chapters of ISSA, ISACA, and Business Continuity Planners Association and has grown significantly since its inception.
2007 Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to Kathryn (Katie) Archer and Luke Sullivan as the winners of the 2007 MN-ISSA College Scholarships. Katie and Luke are pictured below (right and left, respectively)with their proud fathers, Kelley Archer and Robert Sullivan. They were selected based on their academic performance, community service and career goals.
Both recipients express their gratitude to the MN-ISSA organization and conveyed that they will make good use of the $2000.00 scholarship this coming school year.
2007 Century College and MN-ISSA Scholarship Winners
Century College is pleased to announce that James Worley is the recipient of the 2007-2008 Minnesota Information System Security Association Scholarship. Mr. Worley will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2000.00.
Security Professional of the Year - 2006
Rick Ensenbach, Chapter President, awarded Mary Brown chapter Security Professional of the Year for 2006. Mary was nominated by her former manager, Reidun Hanson.
The following is an excerpt from the application nominating Mary:
Mary eats, sleeps and breathes Information Security. Those who know
her would all agree. She talks about her perfect job as doing InfoSec
remotely on the beach!! She has been in the field over 9 years and has
garnered her CISSP, CISA, and a Masters in Information Security. For the
last 4 years, she holds an Adjunct Faculty position at Capella University
where she teaches a full range of IT and Information Security classes
each quarter and she builds Information Security, Networking, etal., college
courses.
She works full time at Hennepin County Medical Center currently leading
the Security effort of our ERP project and has just been promoted to Team
Leader of IT Security Administration/IT Security Team at HCMC. She has
worked in Information Security for 8 years and was project lead for the
HIPAA Security implementation.

Rick Ensenbach, Chapter President, presented a plaque to Kelley Archer (left) at the January MN-ISSA meeting recognizing his many years of service to the Minnesota Chapter of the ISSA. The inscription on the plaque states:
In recognition of his unwavering dedication and service to the Minnesota Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association during the period of 2001 - 2007, the chapter Board of Directors presents this plaque to Kelley Archer. This plaque represents the chapter's sincere gratitude for seven years of faithful service to the chapter which led to the most significant proactive changes in the chapter's history. The success and level of recognition the chapter enjoys today is a direct result of his outstanding guidance and leadership.
