ISSA - Minnesota Chapter Meeting Minutes

Meeting was opened by President, Kelley Archer

* Welcome

*  Introduction of Suzie Babich, new Director of Marketing

*  Thanked Phil Vaughn for contributions as previous Director of Marketing

*  Announced new Recruitment Sponsorship program, which will allow professional recruiters to post jobs on the Chapter website for a fee.

*  The Chapter Board is initiating a security conference with ISACA, ISFA, etc. Will keep chapter membership updated on the progress.  Contact a Board member with any feedback or input on the conference.

*  There will be another CISSP class and exam scheduled in October and November.

*  Strictly Business, June 9, 10 – pick up free tickets in back.  Roger Cressey, Richard Clarke’s deputy, and Ira Winkler will be the key note speakers.  The chapter held a drawing for 2 people to attend lunch with the speakers.  Also need help with booth.  Contact John Ford or Rick Ensenbach.

*  The ISSA 20th anniversary meeting is being held in Boston in June.  Kelley Archer will attend for the Chapter president’s meeting.  Encouraged chapter members to go if can.

*  ISSA is offering 450 grandfathered certifications for the Advanced Architecture and Management Certifications.  See the ISSA website for more information.     

*  New Corporate Sponsors – Web Sense and RadWare. 

*  Job posting from a recruiter – contact Kelley Archer if interested

 

Vice President , Rick Ensenbach

*  CISSP exam has been delayed until 5/28.

*  Will be a CISSP class October 18 – 22 and the exam on November 5 at Century College.

*  Shavlik Technologies will host another study group for the November exam.  Study group to start June 8.  Contact Mike Edlund or Mohammad Alam.  Sign up sheets at meeting.

*  Strictly Business -  encouraged members to attend.  Free tickets available at chapter meeting.  Have to pre-register.

*  Introduced 20 new members, 6 trial members, 29 renewing members.

*  Announced members in long standing from 1991 – 1995.

*  Chapter has 255 active members
